Clinical evaluation of DL-8280(Tarivid®, Ofloxacin) for various respiratory diseases

Abstract
|
|
|
To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tarivid®(Ofloxacin), new Quinolone derivative for various respiratory diseases, 34 patients from Seoul National University Hospital were collected for clinical trial and obtained following results:
1. Chronic Bronchiectasis, Bronchitis (Acute or Chronic), Interstitial pneumonia and Sinusitis were the main target diseases for Tarivid®, trial and there were 17 male and 17 females with average age of 42 years old.
2. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tarivid®, clinical score system was adopted using 7 major chest disease criteria such as cough, bloody sputum, chest pain, sputum, subjective dyspnea, chest auscultation finding and chest radiologic findings.
3. Efficacy rate of Tarivid® was 82% in this clinical trial.
4. Drug susceptibility of Tarivid® from isolated causative organisms showed. good sensitivity for Hemophilus Influenzae, and some degree of resistance to Pseudomonas aeruginos
5. Side reaction which was associated with Tarivid® intake was minor with insomnia, headache and mild gastrointestinal symptoms, and none of the case was severe enough to discontinue Tarivid® medication.
