Clinical evaluation of DL-8280(Tarivid¢ç, Ofloxacin) for various respiratory diseases



Abstract
To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tarivid¢ç(Ofloxacin), new Quinolone derivative for various respiratory diseases, 34 patients from Seoul National University Hospital were collected for clinical trial and obtained following results:
1. Chronic Bronchiectasis, Bronchitis (Acute or Chronic), Interstitial pneumonia and Sinusitis were the main target diseases for Tarivid¢ç, trial and there were 17 male and 17 females with average age of 42 years old.
2. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tarivid¢ç, clinical score system was adopted using 7 major chest disease criteria such as cough, bloody sputum, chest pain, sputum, subjective dyspnea, chest auscultation finding and chest radiologic findings.
3. Efficacy rate of Tarivid¢ç was 82% in this clinical trial.
4. Drug susceptibility of Tarivid¢ç from isolated causative organisms showed. good sensitivity for Hemophilus Influenzae, and some degree of resistance to Pseudomonas aeruginos
5. Side reaction which was associated with Tarivid¢ç intake was minor with insomnia, headache and mild gastrointestinal symptoms, and none of the case was severe enough to discontinue Tarivid¢ç medication.
